Tasting Room Associate

Are you passionate about wine and and providing excellent customer experiences? We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the team at Solvero for the inaugural season in our brand new tasting room. As a guest experience and sales associate you will play a vital role in ensuring every visit to Solvero is an exceptional one.

About Solvero

Solvero Wines is a boutique winery that is family owned and operated in Summerland BC. Our flagship vineyard is in Garnet Valley and here we are growing premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on some of the steepest and highest elevation slopes in British Columbia.

Solvero is loosely translated from Latin to "truth in soil" and reflects our commitment to the land. We aim to authentically reflect the site & the season each vintage in the finished wines.

Responsibilities:

 • Greet all visitors, pour wines for tasting, discuss wines, and convey the Solvero Wines story.

• Actively promote and sell wine and wine club memberships.

• Host a variety of customers including first time visitors, club, trade guests, tour groups and VIP guests.

• Participation in on and offsite events hosted by the winery on evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

• Prepare cheese and charcuterie boards for daily reservations.

• Shipping support including packing orders.

• Housekeeping duties to keep our Tasting Room and public areas organized and clean.

• Restock wine, including regular movement of cases.

 • Participate in staff education and staff meetings when applicable.

Job Requirements:

• Outstanding customer service skills and strong sense of sales and hospitality.

• Enthusiasm and knowledge of wine and/or a willingness to learn.

• Ability to take initiative and adjust to an ever-changing work environment.

• Proficient on iPad, computer.

• Comfortable connecting with customers over the phone.

• Serving it Right Certificate

• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds repeatedly.

• Ability to stand throughout the day.

• Commerce7 or comparable POS experience a plus.

• Must be over 19 years of age

 

$23-26 hourly + tips. Potential for on-site accommodation for the right candidate.
