About the Role:

Product Consultants provide a fun, exciting and professional in store shopping experience for our customers. They provide a high level of customer service, and a passion for transferring the knowledge of, and selling of premium wines, spirits, and beers. Not only are they an educational resource to customers, but they also facilitate staff educational sessions and tastings to maximize transaction values through sharing effective selling techniques.

Product Consultants also enhance the retail environment with the In-store Marketing Program and Product Consultant generated displays. They will also be responsible for portfolio analysis, listing and delisting decisions, to refine and enhance revenue generating potential. This role requires an individual who has excellent communication skills, is energetic, has a willingness to learn and achieve results.

Store Presentation

  • Ensure the shopping environment is professional in appearance with strategically placed displays with product information and strategically placed to maximize revenue.
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service
  • Assist customer with product selection, information, general product profiles and food and wine pairing.
  • Establish and maintain client lists for new products, events, seminars, and special releases whether in person or through monthly newsletters.
  • Demonstrates continuous professional skills upgrading.

Educational Information Resources

  • Prepare, organize and present/assist with events and in-store customer and staff product tasting seminars to be a source of product knowledge

Inventory Management

  • Review product sales performance to refine and enhance their revenue generating potential; make listing/delisting decision based on market trends and demographic demands.
  • Perform a quarterly portfolio review to check products below performance levels; replace with revenue enhancing selections.
  • Coordinate with Store Manager and other Product Consultants effective portfolio reduction via display, tag end, or inter-store transfers.
  • Administer Cross Docked Products including listing decision with business plan, quantity, location, activation and markers, and monitor sales.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • A minimum of one year of recent* customer service experience in a retail environment.
  • Experience with achieving and driving sales.
  • Successful completion of WSET Two, LDB Product Knowledge II, or equivalent industry course.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience facilitating product education sessions with customers and staff.
  • Experience with in-store promotion and marketing programs.

*Recent experience is defined as occurring within the last 5 years.

 

Compensation and Benefits Package:

The salary range for this role is $54,387.32 - $61,395.95 annually.
