What This Job Entails:
The Morning Baker and Breakfast Line Cook is a part time position. You would be a key member of the associate team at Broken Paddle Coffee Roastery & Kitchen and as such the ideal candidate is eager to grow with the company, making an investment both personally and professionally. The Morning Baker and Breakfast Line Cook will work at Broken Paddle Coffee Roastery & Kitchen and will be responsible for duties including but not limited to:
- Dedicated to quality: inspect and test all food before it is served
- In-depth knowledge of food processing and safety
- Ability to bake common coffee shop goods and pastries
- Knowledge of common breakfast items
- Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tickets
- Able to adhere to the precise instructions of the head chef
- Time management
- Maintain a clean and safe station
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
- Prepare and stock the day’s ingredients for each station
- Knowledge of the proper use of various cooking utensils
- Restock and organize inventory
- Assist staff in cleaning the kitchen and utensils
Morning Baker and Breakfast Line Cook Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous baking experience in a professional setting
- 1-2 years of line cook experience in the breakfast capacity
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Must be able to follow printed recipes and plate specifications
- Must maintain personal hygiene in accordance to Health Department standards for Food Service Employees.
- Culinary schooling would be considered an asset
- Willing to provide further training for a suitable candidate
