The position we are offering is for a Harvest Interns under the direction of both the Head winemaker and the Associate winemaker from September 1st 2015 until November 20th 2015.The candidate will have to undertake the following responsibilities:
-Red and White grapes maturity sampling and tracking
-Grapes reception in the cellar: reception, sorting, pressing, filling tank
-Bulk Wine/Must reception in the cellar: Quality control, Pumping
-Primary ferments operations in red, white and sparkling: Addition, pump over, punch down, racking, rack and return, monitoring and basic analysis
-Barrel Operation: Cleaning, carrying, filling, racking, stirring, stacking
-Cleaning: Follow and apply cleaning procedure in the cellar as per request by the management
-Tasting: Set up tasting, participate, and tracking
-Lab Analysis: Sampling, perform basic analysis, Set up trial tasting for addition, fill out analysis forms for daily analysis
-Health and Safety: Must follow Internal Health and Safety guidelines and due diligence behavior required in any cellar operations
This is an opportunity for a young student to build experience and skills in cellar operation and to be exposed to the winemaking of premium wines of various grape varieties. Anybody with great motivation to learn about winemaking and keen to work hard will find this experience very knowledgeable to improve her/his skills.
1 or 2 years of experiences in the cellar is a plus. Only permanent resident or Canadian citizen will be accepted this year due to the short timelines. The candidate will be hourly paid and the wage will be dependent of her/his experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Working conditions in certain areas of the winery are cold, wet, slippery and noisy. Flexible work schedules and overtimes may be required especially during crush. The job may require the handling of hazardous materials on an occasional basis. Requires the ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and frequent walking, including going up and down stairs and ladders, bending, standing for long period and carrying/moving equipment and supplies.
