Full-time Staff Accountant

The Hare Wine Company is growing and our dynamic team is looking for a Full Time Staff Accountant to be the newest key member in our organization. The Staff Accountant performs fiscal processing in the areas of accounts receivable, general ledger review, month-end journal entry posting, account reconciliations, and supports the Accounting Manager with various other accounting duties. The position requires great organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable and payroll

  • Process cash receipts and prepare bank deposits and monthly bank reconciliations

  • Process all payment invoices and produce cheques for vendors

  • Prepare bank deposits and reconciliation

  • Perform reconciliations of assigned GL accounts

  • Prepare monthly J10 reporting and other Government remittance including HST and WSIB

  • Review and manage inventory; bulk and bottle

  • Weekly/monthly reporting

  • The Staff Accountant will also be expected to perform additional tasks as requested and will provide backup support

    Background/Experience and minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-year degree (or certificate) in business, accounting, or related field or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years accounting experience
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Experience with POSsimplicity software and QuickBooks a plus
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Committed attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Wine industry experience a plus

Full time, salaried position.  Regular work week Monday day through Friday.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
