A newly established entrepreneur is seeking a successful liquor store manager for their soon to be open boutique. Ownership is looking to build their business from the ground up to become a destination beer wine and spirit store within the Abbotsford area. This new concept for the boutique style liquor store is going to be focused on product selection, including speciality wine products or hard to obtain products, marketplace differentiation and local community. A consorted effort will be made to engage the dynamic customer base of residents, and to understand what drives each community member to make their purchases. There will be an opportunity to assist with the store layout and overall store concepts with respect to the business model. Ownership is seeking a dynamic, hands on individual looking for a challenge to help build a family business in the City of Abbotsford.
The successful incumbent will have at least 5 years relevant retail experience, with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience. Incumbents should have knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, goal setting, a depth and range of product knowledge, proficient with MS Office software and exceptional guest service. A positive attitude and a passion to educate customers on their product is a must!
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to management of the daily operations of the liquor store, store merchandising, task delegation to staff members, liaise with product representatives to secure exclusive products and tastings, and manage guest services to ensure there is a continual focus on products with respect to overall store concepts. Team member and leadership goals in education and training should align to achieve maximum profits.

Essential skills, Experience and Education:
• Must be 19 years of age and have a Serving It Right Certificate or equivalent
• Candidates with wine/beer knowledge gained from formal education or experience equivalent WSET, Sommelier Certification and/or Cicerone Certification will be given top priority
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must be able to consistently demonstrated outstanding customer service skills and poise and tact in working with the public.
• Flexible working schedule. Some nights, weekends and/or Statutory Holidays, may be required
• Strong ability to lead with a passion for product knowledge and educating others
• Must be able to meet physical needs of the position including the ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
