Director, Sales and Marketing, responsible for Accolade’s production, finance, sales and marketing departments for all brands/countries of supply dealing with Canadian agent & distributor and Canadian liquor boards. Canadian resource for Accolade personnel around the world; agent’s resource for all products/countries shipping to Canada.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Track shipments and depletions against budget.
· Submit monthly report with commentary on MTD/YTD shipments, Brand Performance by Province and Market/Competition.
· Assess financials (COGs & FOBs) pertaining to brand and SKU profitability to ensure margins are meeting expectations.
· Set prices for new listing applications and respond to liquor boards’ price changes while meeting Accolade’s criteria.
· On a regular basis review agent’s marketing and promotional spend against budget ensuring all dollars are being fully utilized. Review promotional plans with agent to ensure appropriate level and type of promotion are being achieved.
· Approve POS created locally by agent to ensure brand guidelines are being met.
· Represent Accolade Wines global portfolio to Liquor boards - prepare and conduct presentations to liquor board buyers for all current and new product launches.
· Ensure agent is applying to all tenders possible.
· Set portfolio and sub-brand priorities for agent and monitor.
· Create annual budgets and adjust forecasts on a monthly basis.
· Work closely with various Accolade marketing personnel for new product development projects and in preparation of consumer insights research projects, where applicable.
· Provide feedback to marketing and supply chain personnel in countries of supply around label design, packaging issues, and regulatory requirements.
· Follow up on collection & debit note issues for UK and AU based credit teams to ensure collection and verify (why the debit and what brand) and approve debit notes.
· Follow up directly with consumers who’ve registered complaints on the company’s web sites.
· Develop and maintain relationships with key on-premise industry stakeholders.
· Oversee/organize itineraries for visiting principals and winemakers.
· Manage Accolade’s Canadian interests with various government marketing bodies, such as Wine Australia, California Wine Institute, Wines of New Zealand and Wines of South Africa.
· Represent Accolade’s portfolio at trade shows across Canada. Includes Liquor Board shows, private (Vancouver), Wines of California, Wines of New Zealand, and Wine Australia events.
· Play key public relations roles conducting seminars for consumers, staff training for trade (on-premise and liquor board staff).
· Deliver product knowledge to provincial sales teams; monitor agent’s field execution/effectiveness, drive sales, listings across Canada primarily through rep.
· Responsible for delivering product, packaging, logistical, technical information to agent for timely completion of tenders, and applications. Includes competition results, awards, accolades, etc.
