Join a dynamic and innovative winery and farm in Muskoka! We’re looking for an energetic youth intern (see below) to co-ordinate and improve farm and winery operations. We’re a unique cranberry farm, specializing in wines made from indigenous fruit. Our wines are distributed throughout Ontario and overseas making us one of Canada’s largest fruit wineries.
Specific duties include:
- wine making duties including sourcing, fermenting, racking, filtering and bottling
- new wine product development
- building wine making capacity and scalable production methods
- co-ordinating wine and cranberry production & operations
- database implementation, tracking and warehouse inventory organization
- co-ordinating and implementing value-added retail product operations
- shipping and warehouse management
- supervising temporary staff as required
- other duties as required
Education/Experience/Skills:
- University degree or college diploma, preferably in oenology, agriculture, science and/or operations management
- Strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated and detail focused
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Willing to work long hours and weekends as required (particularly during harvest)
- Valid drivers’ licence and reliable transportation
Who is eligible? Unemployed or underemployed youth (under the age of 30) who have graduated with a degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution within the last three years, are legally entitled to work in Canada, and have not been previously employed under a FedNor Youth Internship funding agreement, or other federal or provincial internship with pay for a period of six (6) months or more.

Salary Range: $29,000 - $35,000. This full-time position is partially funded by FedNor's Northern Ontario Development Program.
