Western Canada Trade Marketing Associate

 

We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to fill the position of Western Canada Trade Marketing Associate (TMA), based in Vancouver. The primary role of this position is to provide trade marketing support to the Escalade sales teams in BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. 


Potential candidates must have completed a marketing/graphics/business diploma or degree.   Ideally the candidate will have basic wine education/appreciation courses and have some experience and lots of passion for the wine and spirits industry.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Participate in the Integrated Commercial Planning process by helping build and implement brand strategies, the annual marketing plans and annual budgets; the TMA is in charge of local implementation of the marketing plans, maintaining all tracking documents and reports.

  • Develop and distribute sales support materials where and when required for General List and Specialty SKUs.

  • Collaborate with Sales to plan, track and report on all retail and on-premises marketing activities.

  • Assist with the management of the retail programing process; the TMA is responsible for all customer submissions for programming in Western Canada and updating all corresponding budgets and planning documents.

  • Responsible for the listing process of new products and packs; work closely with Provincial Managers, VP, our customers, suppliers and become an expert at working within their unique systems.

  • The TMM will track, code and enter in budget system all invoicing for Western Canada.

  • Assist in responding to special requests from the Concha y Toro and Fetzer Vineyards global team, Country Manager and VP; such as organizing visits, product samples, meetings, trade shows and special events.

  • Communicate via a formal marketing meeting, to all Provincial Managers and VP weekly, to ensure that sales teams are fully up to date on brand strategy, timing of resources and other deliverables.

  • Participate in strategic programming decisions on all EWS brands by safeguarding sales effectiveness and A&P efficiency with Provincial Managers, VP and Revenue Management department.

  • Plan, execute and track PR activities in Western Canada.

  • Assist sales managers as needed, including completion of marketing program applications as required.  Applications for shelf talkers & neck-tags, image programs, value-add, tastings, TASTE Magazine & BCLDB Product Guide;

  • Artwork design and in house printing and distribution for promotional, sales, and event materials as assigned by marketing/sales managers. 

  • Production or sourcing, coordination and distribution of POS for approved LDB programs and delivery to LDB (other admin to help with legwork as approved and directed) and LRS/LIC programs;

  • Rep requests for materials to be assigned and approved by marketing/sales managers, to be completed on a timely basis;

  • Electronic versions of price lists to be updated and distributed monthly (including web posting);

  • Compilation of monthly reports including compiling data and building PP presentations;

  • Maintain accurate and current data and systems within the EWS marketing systems;

  • Manage expenses and any promotional spending within company guidelines.

  • Bi-monthly priority brand sell sheet design and print.

  • Assist in the management of POS materials in the office warehouse.

     

    The Ideal Candidate Should:

  • Be proficient in excel, word processing and graphic design skills, especially Photoshop, CS4, & InDesign, effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Be a self-starter who is eager to advance their career with a keen eye for innovation.

  • Have the ability to see the big picture to improve communication messages based on the target market.

  • Have the ability to read and analyze statistics for targeting & effectively build sales marketing material for the sales team.

  • Have the ability to execute high standards of performance and work within tight deadlines to advance the company.

  • Able to work occasional evenings and weekends.  Maintain a valid passport for business related travel.

     

    Benefits, plus incentive bonus, base salary commensurate with experience. Business related expenses are also covered.
