POSITION TITLE: Store Manager
REPORTS TO: Senior Store Manager
CORE FUNCTION: Responsible for the overall operation of their Co-op Wine Spirits Beer location to improve service, program execution and company profitability. This includes scheduling, appraisals, budgeting and attainment of financial results. Other responsibilities include the overall management of image, standards, implementation and adherence to company programs, policies and procedures, as well as human resources related activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. The ongoing overseeing of the daily store management ensuring operation and management in accordance with company policies, procedures and overall expectations.
2. Provide ongoing written and verbal feedback to the Senior Manager regarding recommendations for continued improvement of store operations. Where necessary, develop and administer mini-action plans for desired results.
3. Demonstrate and provide ongoing professional leadership that creates a positive/harmonious working environment within the centre.
4. Provide direction and leadership to the store team toward building an ongoing positive, highly motivated, work force within the liquor store.
5. Provide leadership and direction in the development and achievement of store budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses, profits, EHP and inventory turns.
6. Schedule staff according to sales needs, ensuring that EHP is adhered to.
7. Ensure the store’s merchandising standards are being managed and maintained in accordance to company expectations.
8. Ensure company programs are being implemented and managed in accordance to company expectations.
9. Ensure ongoing creative merchandising that creates a “WOW” image in the consumer’s mind.
10. Ensure the store’s housekeeping, sanitation and maintenance schedules/standards are managed and being maintained in accordance to company expectations.
11. Directly responsible to ensure the store adheres to Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission operating guidelines.
12. Prepare and provide the Senior Manager with quarterly progress reports. Report on store’s financial results and progress on work plan objectives, complete with action plans should any areas be behind company expectations.
13. Provide information, assistance and courteous service to customers.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (includes Education):
· Grade 12 education
· Two years of retail supervisory experience
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
· Retail wines and spirits experience
· Business-related experience
· Two years of retail management experience
