Renaissance Wine Merchants Ltd. started in 1983 as a local Alberta wine sales agency and importer. Since that time the company has evolved into a leading and trusted importer for wine, beer and spirits in Canada’s four western provinces. Currently we are looking to add further infrastructure in the form of a new position, Trade Marketing. This new role, based in Calgary, will provide an exciting opportunity in a fascinating industry for the right candidate to apply their creative skills in a wide range of areas and really make a difference. Duties and Responsibilities

1 - Marketing and Brand Programming

• Develop and implement:

  • product and brand programming strategies;

  • annual marketing plans;

  • annual marketing budgets in accordance with our fiscal plan; and

  • cross-promotion strategies across beverage categories

• Create and distribute sales support and promotional materials, such as on-packs, draw items and wearables

• Collaborate with management and sales team to develop integrated marketing strategies for our key accounts

2 - Social Media

• Develop our social media strategy, including email distribution and website content

• Collaborate with our Design & Communications Coordinator to create and manage marketing material

• Use data analytics and search engine optimization tools to track the progress, success and engagement of our marketing

3 - Research and Reporting

• Research, track and report on:

  • results of retail and on-premise marketing activities;

  • key supplier marketing activities; and

  • current marketing and beverage alcohol consumption trends

• Conduct, track and report on “Voice of the Customer” surveys

4 - Events and Suppliers

• Organize and manage trade and public events

• Manage special requests from our top suppliers

Qualifications

• Experience in the beverage alcohol or consumer packaged goods industry is an asset

• Bachelor’s degree or above is preferred

• Consideration will be given to candidates looking for part-time employment
