Harvest/Cellar Intern (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Harvest 2014 (October-November/December)

Pentâge Winery – is seeking an enthusiastic individual to work in our cellar during the 2014 harvest.  The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Winemaker.  

Candidate will be assisting in all aspects of cellar work such as picking, receiving and processing grapes, fermentations, punch downs, pressings, racking, blending, barrel work, sanitation, etc.

 

Must possess the ability:

• to operate winery equipment such as presses,destemmers, pumps, forklifts, etc

• to monitor ferments (temperature control, inoculation, cap management, etc)

• to complete work orders with minimal supervision, and/or to work closely and professionally with other team members

• to maintain a safe, clean and organized cellar 

 

Position Requirements:

• At least 3 to 5 years proven experience in the cellar.

• Technical Degree/Diploma in Winemaking or Oenology. 

• Valid driver’s license with own transportation to and from work.

• Forklift and tractor experience.

• Available to work long hours.

• Must be fluent in English (spoken and written) and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
