We require an Assistant Wine Maker / Cellar Master for a primarily fruit wine making company.
Established in 1999, Angel Estate Winery (formerly Westham Island Estate Winery) has grown to be the producers of premium quality fruit wine, mainly from berries.
Angel Estate Winery produces some award winning berry wines such as Blueberry, Cranberry, Rashpberry, Strawberry, Currants to name a few.
As the company is aggressively pursuing high end markets in the international arena, quality in all aspects has been and will be our main focus.
As part of our expansion and succession planning strategy, Angel Estate Wineries Inc. requires a full time “hands on” Winery Cellar Master / Assistant Wine Maker at our winery in Delta. The position is an integral part of the winery process and will report directly to the Winemaker. The incumbent will be involved in all facets of cellar operations and they should be familiar with production equipment, preferably in a winery setting. Experience in selling would definitely an advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to;

Play a key role in the wine fermentation, blending and pressing.

Participating in tastings

Responsible for monitoring and enforcement of company policies, procedures, and applicable industry policies and regulations.

Other duties shall be assigned as required.
Interested candidates should possess;
- Completion of related education in Winemaking/Oenology or Viticulture and/or 3 to 5 years equivalent work experience.

Strong problem-solving abilities, individually and in a team setting.

Evidence of strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

A self-starter with high energy levels and a “does what it takes” attitude.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Effective organizational skills.

A flexible schedule is a must especially around Harvest time.
