Downtown Vancouver Sales Representative - On-Premises Dining

Job Summary: 

To increase the market share of the sales of the Authentic Wine & Spirits Merchants (AWSM) portfolio of brands in their assigned area within the philosophies and style of the company.  Also responsible for developing and maintaining critical partnering relationships with key on-premises accounts in downtown Vancouver.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Account Responsibilities: 

Call on a defined geographic territory of fine dining and casual dining restaurants in the downtown area.

  • Build and maintain product distribution within these accounts, keep accurate records of each account.

  •  Develop partnerships with licensee account management to increase the market share of our products within the account.

  • Depending on the customer base, activities can include making sales presentations, taking product orders, coordinating promotions, developing wine and bar lists, conducting product tastings or staff training, and other related activities.    

    Management/Administrative Responsibilities: 

 

  • Maintain accurate and current account data base. 

  • Submit weekly activity  and planning reports through company CRM tool (Chablis)

  • Manage expenses within company guidelines 

 

Job Requirements:

Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be highly organized, and display excellent customer service abilities.  Should have good PC skills (Windows: Word/Excel).  Must be able to juggle multiple situations, and able to work independently.

Knowledge:  Working knowledge of alcoholic beverages, WSET Intermediate course preferred, industry experience.  Willing to learn more about the industry by up-grading wine and spirit knowledge through the completion of courses and learning programs.

Physical: Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and travel (includes overnight stays).  Must be able to lift and carry 41+ pounds.

Other: Must possess a valid BC Driver’s license.  Must have and maintain a valid Canadian Passport.

Other Preferred Job Qualifications: Existing trade relationships.  Previous selling, marketing, public relations, restaurant/wine, and food experience, retail and/or event special event planning experience.  Passion for wine and the industry.
