We are looking for a wine manager for a fine wine & liquor store at a busy downtown location.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of wine (the regions, varietals, food pairings, etc) and be able to match customer desires with available product.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
Store Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving,organizing & displaying products
- Disseminate information on wine products to staff and customers both verbally and via the creation of shelf talkers and other promotional material as needed
- Manage wine selection to keep categories fresh and appealing
- Manage tastings of various products for our customers
Customer Service
- Provide all customers with prompt and courteous service
- Assist customers find what they are looking for
- Receive and fill orders for clubs, restaurants, and other businesses as required
Qualifications
- Previous liquor retail experience required
- Fine wine knowledge required
- High end liquor and craft beer knowledge an asset
- Clean criminal record check
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good problem solving and time management skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and react positively to business needs and changes in strategies
Working Conditions

- Demanding workload
Physical Requirements
- Flexible availability for a 44 hour work week (Sunday – Saturdays, days and evenings)
- Able to safely lift boxes up to 50 pounds
- Standing for extended periods of time
Wage:
To be negotiated based on experience
