Fielding Estate Winery is looking to hire an Events Manager to join our Hospitality team.   We are looking for a warm, friendly, hands on manager with a passion for customer service & Niagara wines who will create memorable events at the winery and work alongside our Hospitality Team.  This is a full-time position with potential for advancement within the company. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Create and develop new on-site winery events

• Serve as primary contact for clients. Work with clients/suppliers to determine all details for the event, organize and relay to winery team

• Coordinate and execute logistics for all events

• Attend offsite meetings for 20 Valley Tourism & Niagara Wine Festival, etc. for planning partnered events

• Determine cost estimates and budgets. Track spending and adhere to budget

• Work with Retail Manager to schedule staff for upcoming events

• Create Event Orders for each event

• Coordinate and update Calendar of Events internally and externally

• Post upcoming events to all local referral websites & Fielding social media sites.

• Book and execute private group tastings & tours

• Inventory management of all event related food items

• Represent winery at outside functions as needed

• Hands on Retail duties required - tasting bar, tours including VIP tastings

• Key holder, responsible for opening and closing the winery on certain days and performing closing duties and POS functions.

Qualifications:

• A warm and outgoing personality.  A positive attitude

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Wine Industry, Management & Event Planning an asset

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

• Ability to work well with a compact team, and to work well independently

• Ability to work weekends (Saturdays preferred) and the occasional evening

• Commitment to excellence and high standards

• Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities

• Excellent customer service skills

• Professional appearance and demeanor

• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.

• Solid knowledge of and/or a proven passion for wine, with formal training considered an asset (WSET, etc) 

• Strong knowledge of wine and food paring

• Smart Serve certificate 

• Ability to lift 40 lbs
