Head of Sales – Benjamin Bridge
Benjamin Bridge is a growing, family-owned winery and vineyard located in the heart of the rural Gaspereau Valley in Nova Scotia on the Bay of Fundy, where its cool, maritime climate enables it to pursue international quality traditional method sparkling wines and brisk, aromatic whites.
Benjamin Bridge seeks a candidate to lead its wine sales in local and export markets. The successful candidate will be part of its senior management team, working closely with ownership, and be focused on the winery’s wholesale efforts. The candidate must be willing to live in or commute to the rural Annapolis Valley and be looking to make a long-term commitment to Benjamin Bridge.
Responsibilities
· Develop strategic sales objectives for the winery’s many markets.
· Establish and maintain key relationships with strategic partners.
· Allocate limited sales volumes and manage sales for each market, while developing new markets to accommodate future volume.
· Be responsible for the day-to-day requirements of each market.
· Collaborate with and respond to the winery’s agents in export markets.
· Work with the winery’s wholesale buyers and work with the wholesaler’s retail & licensee staff.
· Schedule and execute on all marketing and sales initiatives for each market.
· Prepare a marketing and sales budget for each market and maintain all necessary records.
· Lead and manage a team of part-time and full-time sales staff.
· Be an ambassador for the winery and its wines.
· Travel throughout Canada and internationally on behalf of Benjamin Bridge.
Requirements
· Diploma/degree in wine marketing and management or similar.
· Extensive knowledge of wine; certified wine education an asset.
· At least 3 years of experience in wine sales.
· Experience working with large wholesale buyers and wine stores.
· Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
· Bilingualism an asset.
· A desire for work travel.
