The greater Toronto area is the largest market for VQA wines in Canada and that market is growing. In fact, Toronto is one of the largest wine markets in North America. Château des Charmes makes only VQA wines and we are known for the consistent high quality we deliver vintage after vintage, and always at a fair price.

JOB SUMMARY: Your job will be to increase the market for Château des Charmes wines in the greater Toronto area. We are seeking a passionate, self-motivated and persistent individual for full-time outside sales. Your enthusiasm for wine and food will make you a sought-after resource for your customers. You will be calling on up-scale and casual restaurants, hotels, LCBO and grocery stores.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and grow volume and distribution by building upon existing and developing new long-term relationships with key local LCBO/grocery employees and licensees
  • Use superior analytical skills to identify and qualify new licensee sales targets
  • Lead product knowledge/training seminars for key customers
  • Represent our winery at industry or customer events
  • Maintain an accurate account database
  • Submit weekly activity and planning reports
  • Manage expenses within company guidelines

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Genuine enthusiasm for food and wine
  • Post-secondary education required
  • Demonstrated success in outside sales territory, preferably in the wine or food & beverage industry
  • Keen understanding of the hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of Liquor Board regulations, market trends and competition
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Territory travel, occasional evening events, ability to lift up to 15 kilos
  • A reliable car and a valid driver’s license
  • Smart Serve certified

Compensation will be based on experience and ability to make an immediate impact and contribution to sales. The package will be comprised of salary, commission, automotive and general expenses as well as an optional shared-cost group benefits plan.
