Trail Estate Winery is a quality-driven winery located in Prince Edward County, Ontario. We are a new, emerging winery, focused on single-vineyard, small-batch wines. We are seeking a Vineyard Manager for a Mat Leave position in 2017. This position would run for five months — roughly April through August.

Duties will include, but not be limited to vineyard and grounds including:
Scouting, Spraying According to Spray Plan, Hand/Physical Labour, Light Tractor and Sprayer Maintenance, Tractor Work: Bushog, Cultivator, and Grape Hoe, Managing 1-2 People, Maintain Clean and Safe Work Environment at All Times, Inventory Management, Occasional Trouble-Shooting, etc

The ideal candidate must have some (1-2 yrs) vineyard, tractor & spray experience, be detail oriented, thorough and practical. We are a small winery with a 7-acre vineyard, so flexibility (including time flexibility according to weather) is required and multiple hats are worn! Love of farming and proactive enthusiasm required.
The ideal candidate understands that consumer education and service is a key part of the job and relishes it. In addition to above duties, other roles will be assumed from time to time, including mainaining and fostering best practices, education (i.e. mentoring staff and leading visitor vineyard tours) as well as participating in local industry groups, etc.
