Full-time Bookkeeper

Handles key bookkeeping roles for Flat Rock Cellars winery in Jordan and Shawn & Ed Brewing Company brewery in Dundas, Ontario. Office location: Jordan, Ontario

Flat Rock Cellars is an established winery with solid distribution, known for quality, premium winemaking and innovative branding. FRC is located in lovely Jordan, Ontario overlooking the vineyards, with Lake Ontario and Toronto’s skyline in the distance. The FRC team takes their job and winemaking seriously but we like to have a little fun while we are at it.

Shawn & Ed Brewing Company is a new brewery with a big capacity and even bigger ideas. We brew tasty beers that are well-crafted with quality ingredients which are easy-drinking and very sessionable. Our brewery is located in beautiful Dundas, Ontario in a historic curling and skating rink. Our building may be old but we are a passionate crew with a vision for innovation.

You must have:

-          Good working knowledge of Sage 50

-          Knowledge of full-cycle bookkeeping/accounting including A/P, A/R. Payroll, Bank rec, Government remittance

-          Minimum of 2-3 years experience; previous wine/beer industry experience will be favoured

-          Be organized self-starter, diligent, efficient, deadline-sensitive with great task management

-          Competency with Microsoft applications including Word and Excel; be comfortable with on-line environment

-          Clear and skillful communication (both written and verbal) in a personal and professional manner

-          The ability to work within a close-knit team with a   positive can-do attitude

 

You will need:

-          Great attention to detail

-          To live in or close to the region

-          A passion for wine and craft beer is a definite asset

 

Key roles:

-          Payroll administration and knowledge of employment                  standards and regulations

-          Data entry and general journal preparation

-          Financial statement preparation

-          Budget preparation

-          Prepare bank deposits and reconciliation

-          Process all payment invoices

-          Review and enter inventory

-          Weekly/Monthly reporting

-          Produce cheques for vendors

-          Process government remittances including HST and WSIB

-          Remit Excise Tax reports

-          Prepare documentation and reports for annual audit

-          Work closely with all departments within the winery and brewery.

Full time, salaried position. Compensation is commensurate with experience
