The British Columbia Wine Institute is the lead trade organisation for the British Columbia Wine
Industry. We are a member based organisation responsible for the marketing and promotion of the
Wines of British Columbia brand. We are currently accepting applications for an Events & Marketing Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager you will be primarily responsible for coordinating and executing events for the British Columbia Wine Institute and be required to assist with other marketing functions from time to time. The position is an integral part of a small focused team. The ability to manage a large work load, conflicting deadlines, strong time management and a high level of attention to detail will assure success in this role.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to;
· event planning and execution of BCWI Trade and media events
· event planning and execution of BCWI member events
· event planning and execution of BCWI consumer events
· evaluation of requests for participation as a sponsor and execution of successful applications
· developing and printing collateral materials for events
· manage shipping and couriers for the Marcomms department
· website maintenance
· monitor and report effectiveness of events
· monitor and deliver events within budget
· general administration tasks and support to the marketing team as required
Skills and qualifications
· 5 years experience in a events/marketing position
· Post secondary education in events planning desirable
· Marketing or communications degree desirable
· wine marketing, communications and/or event planning experience an asset
· strong communication skills both written and verbal
· ability to relate to all levels of Government and Industry
· good working knowledge of Microsoft office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
· self‐motivated and able to manage own time and priorities with limited supervision
· valid drivers license
· travel at the expense of the British Columbia Wine Institute may be required from time to time

Compensation: This is full-time position with an attractive compensation package:
Salary Range: $40,000 - $48,000 commensurate with relevant experience.
