Great! Vintage Wine Tours is hiring.
We're looking for individuals with a passion for wine, individuals with strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and an appetite for taking initiative in a customer service role. Individuals with experience working in the wine/hospitality industry have a solid advantage, but this type of experience it is not prerequisite to the position.
The right candidate possesses a good general understanding of the local area, of the Okanagan wine industry, and has a grasp of how our industry figures in the global context. The right candidate has good manners, attention to detail, and adapts to work well with a variety of different client needs and expectations. The ideal candidate will develop their own relationships at the cellar doors, will build on existing company reputation, and maintain standards of excellent service that for 5 years has made Vintage Wine Tours one of the more exceptional wine tour operators in British Colombia.
Candidates should feel confident in their ability to discuss fundamentals like winery operations, winemaking decisions, vineyard management, terroir, wine quality, and be able to lead tastings with gusto and professionalism. The successful candidate is expected to put in hours of study and practice to refine their discourse on a variety of additional subjects such as local history, geology, microclimate, trade, provincial regulation, and the economics of making wine in Canada.
The deserving candidate also must possess an immaculate driving record and must undergo an advanced driving course through ICBC to be accredited as a professional driver. The candidate has great respect for vintage automobiles, as their new "office" will be a wonderful red motown survivor, a 1956 Cadillac Sedan de Ville.
Interested individuals please send us your current CV and a brief cover letter detailing other relevant experience and why you’re passionate about wine!
Cheers!
