Lab Tech, some cellar work, Full Time Position (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Summerhill Pyramid Winery is a 35,000+ case Organic winery producing sparkling, white, red, Late Harvest and Icewine located in Kelowna, BC. 

We are looking for an experienced Lab Tech to join our Cellar Crew.  This will be a great opportunity to work with fruit from throughout the valley, while producing premium wine organically. 

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 -          Daily tracking of fermentations

-          Sample collection and lab analysis of must and wine (pH, TA, Brix, VA, Alc, RS, FSO2, TSO2, etc)

-          Inoculations

-          Nutrient additions to fermenting wine

-          Monthly SO2 testing and additions

-          Protein stability trials and additions

-          A variety of other tasks given by Enologist or Assistant Winemaker

Requirements:

-          Positive attitude and ability to work in a team or independently

-          Ability to meet physical demands of position including lifting up to 50lbs, standing for long periods of time, working outside in varying weather conditions, and comfortable with heights

-          Punctual and ability to get oneself to work

-          Must be able to work long and flexible hours

-          Ability to communicate and follow instruction

Can be an asset:

-          Lab experience

-          Formal education in wine/chemistry/related studies

-          Forklift experience

-          Organic winemaking experience
