Clos du Soleil Winery is a top-tier boutique winery located in the beautiful Similkameen Valley of British Columbia.  We are searching for a full time Vineyard and Operations Manager, to begin work early in 2018. 

Job Description

• Lead responsibility for all of Clos du Soleil's vineyards, including all viticultural decisions and vineyard management work, within the context of both organic & biodynamic practices, to produce the highest-quality grapes for one of British Columbia's most respected boutique wineries.
• A prominent and visible role in a small winery aiming to produce unique terroir-driven wines that compete internationally.
• Challenging work within a fun, supportive and collegial atmosphere.
• Opportunities to be hands-on with the process from grape-growing right through to final sale.  As such the successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to winery/cellar work, assist with aspects of our sales/marketing/hospitality, and generally have learning opportunities regarding multiple aspects of the business.

Qualifications

A successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience:

• Demonstrable hands-on experience in viticulture and vineyard management (Clos du Soleil utilizes both organic & biodynamic practices - openness to these practices is a requirement. Prior experience with these specific practices would be a bonus.)
• 3 to 5 years vineyard management experience. 
• A very strong work ethic, and an ability to be flexible and collaborative and work in a team setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to work with contracted growers in addition to managing owned-properties.
• Be self-directed, and able to work independently.
• Ability to manage a team.
• Ability to develop a budget and manage vineyard properties within this budget.
• Experienced operation of tractors, forklifts, and typical vineyard/farm equipment.
• The job will include cellar work throughout the year. Prior cellar experience is a bonus. An interest in cellar work is a requirement.

Job Location

Clos du Soleil Winery and Estate Vineyard is located at 2568 Upper Bench Road, Ketemeos BC V0X 1N4. The winery also owns and leases vineyard along the Upper Bench and contracts with other vineyards in the Similkameen Valley and Southern Okanagan. These locations would be the responsibility of the Vineyard and Operations Manager.
