Cellar Assistant (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Ex Nihilo is a beautiful boutique winery just North of Kelowna looking over Lake Okanagan. The winery focuses on small lot production of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet-Merlot Blends, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Chardonnay. 

We are currently looking for a Cellar Assistant to start immediately to help with the upcoming harvest. The position is seasonal, but may become year round should the candidate also be willing to do vineyard work. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

1. Previous winery, vineyard and cellar experience. 

2. Completion of at least one year of an Enology program, or a related science diploma or degree such as chemistry or biochemistry.  

3. Be able to work long hours, nights and weekends when necessary. 

4. Assist with operations such as harvesting, pressing, punch downs/punchovers, inocculations. 

5. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

6. Comfortable with operating winery equipment; operating the crusher/destemmer, press, converyor and pump.

7. Safe operation of a forklift

A strong attention to detail, positive attitude and ability to works well with others. Candidates must have the ability to perform the physical demands of cellar work. Candidates must be able to legally work in Canada.
