Experienced Wine Shop Manager required. Candidates must be adaptable to the varying requirements of the position and be comfortable working both independently and as a part of a team. Must be a self-starter who is detail oriented and conscientious. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in retail management (preference in wine or liquor retail). This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual with many talents to join our growing winery.
The Wine Shop Manager is responsible for the efficient movement of product and the efficient operation of the wine shop.
Responsibilities include:
Inventory Control
- manage stock levels in all locations
- manage delivery times and transport costs
- reporting accurate inventory levels in all locations to the controller
Staff Management
- manage scheduling ensuring shop and events are properly staffed
- recruiting, training, supervising and evaluating staff
- staff training including: procedures, customer service, and product knowledge
- preparing daily agendas and staff expectations
Sales Management
- liaise with customers to process orders
- liaise with distributer to process orders
- deal with customer queries and complaints
- liaise with marketing and social media consultants
- ensure proper distribution, accuracy and management of marketing materials
- provide sales reports as needed
Porch Club
· Build and manage the porch club program
General
· implement health and safety procedures
· ensure compliance with health and safety laws
· ensure high standard of cleanliness of facilities both interior and exterior
· ensure proper and timely maintenance and repair of wine shop equipment, fixtures, and furniture
Required Education and Experience
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail management
· Solid understanding of Point of Sales and inventory control systems
· Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs – excel, word, outlook
· Sound knowledge of sales and sales taxes
· Management and scheduling
· Inventory controls
· Cash, credit card and debit card transactions and management
· Customer service
· Ability to multi-task
· Excellent organization skills and self-starter
· Preference given to candidate with retail experience in wine/liquor distribution
Preference will be given to a local applicant in the Langley, White Rock and South Surrey area.
