Fort Berens Estate Winery is looking for a leader of its hospitality team.
Fort Berens Estate Winery is Lillooet’s first winery and is growing rapidly after opening its new facilities. As an addition to our tasting room, we are opening a patio where our guests will be able to enjoy lunch and a glass of wine. We are also hosting an increasing number of private and public events, including weddings, dinner parties, concerts and more.
Hospitality & Events Manager
Hospitality
- Manage (including hiring, scheduling, training and supervision) a small team of seasonal Tasting Room and Patio staff
- Provide an exemplary Tasting Room and Patio guest experience that creates lasting customer relationships
- Purchase of merchandise and supplies
- Promptly reply to Tasting Room and Patio inquiries and reservations
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the Tasting Room and Patio and surrounding areas
Event Planning
- Coordinate all activities for private winery events, public winery events and discovery club winery events
- Develop, plan and execute for memorable events at the winery
- Work with third party vendors to provide full service offering
This role requires a collaborative working relationship with the Winemaking team, the Executive Chef, the Discovery Club Coordinator and the Director of Direct-To-Consumer Sales and Marketing.
Qualifications:
- Outstanding customer service abilities and a to offer top-notch levels of service
- Experience as a supervisor or team leader
- Retail sales or Fine Dining Management skills
- A warm and outgoing personality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work with a compact team
- Ability to work weekends and evenings
- Solid knowledge of and/or a proven passion for wine, with formal training considered an asset (ISG, WSET, etc)
- Serving It Right certificate
- Ability to lift 20 kg
Hospitality & event staff
We are also looking for a few enthusiastic individuals with a passion for wine, who are outgoing, enjoy meeting new people, and can deliver excellent customer service. The majority of the shifts will be on weekends, holidays and during special events.
We are offering a diverse range of responsibilities that could include:
- Food and beverage service on the patio
- Wine tasting and sales in the tasting room
- Providing guest services during events
- Wine tasting and sales at farmers markets
- Conducting tours for larger groups
The primary responsibility is to provide an exemplary customer experience to our guests that creates lasting customer relationships.
Qualifications:
- Outstanding customer service abilities and a desire to offer top-notch levels of service
- Solid knowledge of and/or a proven passion for wine
- A warm and friendly personality
- Professional appearance, demeanor and attitude at all time
- Ability to act as a team player
- Ability to work weekends and evenings
- Serving It Right certificate
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 20 kg
- 19 years or older
