Ontario Specialty Brands Manager

 

Job Summary: This position is based in the Authentic Wines and Spirits Merchants’ (AWSM) Mississauga office and reports to the Operations VP and General Manager for Ontario.    This position will represent AWSM specialty products to “ LCBO Vintages Category” and will continue and expand our industry leading position of supplying specialty products to the LCBO.

 

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

 

• Working with our suppliers to bring to the Ontario market special wine and spirits  products for the “Vintages Department” of the LCBO;

• Very strong knowledge of wines and spirits required to be able to professionally represent our suppliers with the LCBO;

 

Job Requirements:  

 

• Undergraduate university degree preferred, other business accreditations will also be considered;

• Advanced wine and spirits training, WSET, ISG;

• Three to five years of industry related experience in sales or marketing capacities of speciality wine and spirits products;

• Established trade contacts with suppliers, knowledge and exposure to Ontario Liquor Board policies and practices is required;

• Strong  level of IT related skills, strong PowerPoint and Excel knowledge and preferably a working knowledge of the CHG Cellar and other reporting tools;

• Proven analytical skills and experience in managing budgets, logistics, inventory, shipping and related attributes;

• Demonstrated ability to multi task, set priorities, negotiate, make presentations, and work as a team player with a diverse universe of related parties is a must;

• A flair for creative thinking and innovation in supplier management, brand development  and LCBO relationship building;

• Language ability in French, Spanish,  and/or Italian would be an asset;

• Must be a team orientated individual who will enjoy a vibrant team spirit work environment.
