Monte Creek Ranch Winery is currently seeking a qualified individual for the role of Assistant Winemaker. This is a full time, permanent position that reports directly to the Winemaker, and will provide opportunity to expand cellar management skills in a hands on position.

Monte Creek Ranch is a winery and vineyard with 75 acres of vineyard on two properties in the South Thompson valley, near Kamloops, British Columbia. Our objective is to produce premium wines that reflect and respect our unique terroir, while also delivering value to the customer. Thanks to our dynamic team, we are one of the fastest growing brands in British Columbia and want someone who shares our energy, dedication, and passion.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

-Day to day cellar operations and assistance in producing a range of premium wines with an emphasis on highlighting South Thompson terroir.

-Supervision and management of harvest and cellar crew.

-Handling of cellar maintenance program.

-Assist in grower relations.

-Tasting and blending trials, lab analysis.

-Promotion of Monte Creek Ranch wines at events.

-Tracking wine movements and cellar activities with the winery software.

-Assisting in winery health and safety program.

 

Qualifications

-Post-secondary education in Viticulture and Enology, preference to those with a B.Sc.

-Minimum of three years of cellar/winemaking experience

-Preference to those with managerial/supervisory experience

-Strong self-starter with genuine enthusiasm for crafting quality wine

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-Legally able to work in Canada

-Superior capability in organoleptic assessment

Commensurate with experience. Company benefits are available following a probationary period.
