Joie (pronounced zh-wah) is a farmhouse winery on the beautiful Naramata Bench internationally celebrated for its aromatic whites and Burgundian-style Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. JoieFarm is an active participant in the local food and wine culture of the Canadian Pacific West Coast, creating wines that intentionally pair with local cuisine.
Members of the Joie team are all passionate food and wine lovers dedicated to creating and promoting the potential of aromatic whites and Burgundian reds as the signature wines of our cool-climate winemaking region. We are seeking knowledgeable and passionate wine personnel to work in our scenic farmhouse tasting room, while helping promote the fresh, seasonally-inspired Picnique offerings curated to pair with our wines. Providing an outstanding and authentic guest experience through exceptional customer service is our goal.
Position: Retail Wine Ambassador
Employment Dates: May/June 2016 – September/October 2016 (casual/seasonal)

Requirements (inclusive but not limited to)
· Experience working in a fast-paced, high volume sales environment
· WSET level II is an asset
· Physically capable of lifting 50lbs
· Must be 19 years of age
· Must have Serving It Right
· Innate sense of hospitality, as well as an appreciation for delicious food and wine
· Outstanding communication and customer service skills
· The ability to work as a team as well as independently
· A sound knowledge of the BC wine region
Responsibilities (inclusive but not limited to)
· Host authentic and outstanding tasting room and wine country guest experiences: educate each visitor on JoieFarm’s mission and winemaking with comfort and enthusiasm, maintain an ongoing knowledge of Joie’s portfolio, marketing endeavors, and customer out-reach programs.
· Act as an ambassador for the Joie brand to both guests and industry alike.
· Daily responsibilities include:
o Conducting tours and tastings and sales
o Polish stemware, maintain cleanliness of hospitality areas
o Assist with daily opening and closing duties
o Attend and participate in monthly tasting room meetings/other general winery meetings
