We are a busy and dynamic cider and wine production facility looking for a quality focused assistant cidermaker / winemaker with at least one year of practical experience and education in cidermaking or winemaking.

The company is growing fast and we are looking for a team player that wishes to grow with the company on a long-term basis. The position will be primarily located in New Ross, Nova Scotia.

The position consists of making the best quality fruit wines and ciders possible at the required production volumes for the company’s clients and markets which are expanding quickly.  The key responsibilities will consist of:

·         General cidermaking and winemaking

·         Sanitation of Winery to Industry Standards

·         Laboratory analysis

·         Assistance with production planning and inventory

The assistant wine maker will also be required to:

·         Lift heavy objects on a daily basis (25kgs), walk or stand for most of the shift and wear steel toed shoes and proper PPE.

·         Ability to operate equipment and machinery, operate a forklift (training will be provided as necessary) and carry a valid driver’s license.

·         Ability to work in an environment of variable temperatures

·         Must have positive behavior to lead by example and carry out required tasks with minimal supervision

·         Carry out production in a safe, efficient manner with expectation to meet all quality specifications set by the winemaker

·         Effective utilization of equipment and completion of preventative maintenance and sanitation schedules as required

·         Open minded looking for opportunities to optimize production and flow

·         Effective working relationships with co-workers and office staff

·         Assist with other areas of the operation as required
