Tourism Marketing and Communication Consultant (Part Time) (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Introduction

The Wineries of Niagara on the Lake (WoNOTL) is a non- profit organization acting as a cooperative marketing body currently executing their marketing plan using a volunteer committee structure made up of winery members.  WONOTL is seeking the services of a strategic tourism marketing and communications professional to develop and execute an integrated marketing plan on a fee-for-service basis. The contract would commence October 1st, 2016 and would conclude December 31st, 2017.  The first three months of the contract would primarily consist of on-boarding and strategic planning in cooperation with existing Agency of Record. As of January 1st this independent contractor would be responsible for executing all of the daily marketing activities as per the approved plan, and ensure that the daily operations of the organization are completed and events are executed on time. Direction would be taken from the members of WoNOTL members acting as advisory committees.

On a yearly basis, this independent contractor would be responsible for leading the following activities:

Annual strategic planning, Budgetary planning, Signature Events Communication, Social Media Calendar, PR and Media Relations, Website Updates and E-marketing and Newsletter deployment, Production of Tear-away Maps, Icewine Festival Sponsorship and Communication, Media Plan, Member Communication and Integration, Photography, Sourcing additional funding opportunities, Partner Communication and New Initiatives.

The following is the schedule for this RFP

• Issue Date of RFP – August 18th, 2016
• Deadline for Questions –August 23rd 4pm, 2016 –  Reponses back to all applicants 4 pm August 26th, 2016
• Proposal Submission Deadline –  August 31st, 2016 – 4 p.m.
• Potential candidates may be scheduled for in-person meeting – September 12th – 23rd, 2016
• Contract awarded September 26th for October 3rd, 2016 start date.

 

Bid Submissions*

Interested applicants are to submit a proposal that includes the following:

• Brief resume of the primary consultant(s) highlighting relevant experience and qualifications
• A cost for the services outlined in scope and deliverables**

*Please note submissions will not be accepted from individuals or agencies that have a direct or financial interest in a member or competing winery nor those that are currently employed or contracted by competing winery tourism destination as these would be considered to constitute a ‘conflict of interest’.

**Please provide a budget for October- December 2015 on-boarding and a separate budget for calendar year of 2016.

 Note: Creative costs required by outside agency would not be considered as a part of the contract.
