Responsibilities include, but not be limited to, sanitation of tanks and equipment; transferring/racking tanks; ingredient additions; pump overs/punch downs; monitoring fermentation; operating pumps, filters and crush/press equipment and forklift; stacking, cleaning, filling and topping barrels.
Extended hours required during harvest.
Ideal candidate: physically fit, self-motivated, team player with good communication skills, mechanical knowledge, attention to detail and a passion for wine and continuous quality improvement.
Keys skills include:
-Knowledge of wine cellar operating procedures and equipment;
-Knowledge of safe cellar practices including confined space, ladders and elevated space procedures;
-The ability to understand and perform basic math;
-Spoken and written English, although knowledge of French and/or Spanish would be an asset;
-Although not required, forklift certification would be an asset.
Education/Experience:
-Winery production experience required;
-A certificate or diploma in winery/vineyard/winemaking preferred.
