Pillitteri Estates Winery is a premium family owned winery that produces 100 K+ cases each year. Our focus is on aromatic white wines, Bordeaux reds and icewine.
We are currently looking for a motivated, skilled, hardworking team player to join our 2016 Harvest Team. An ideal candidate will work closely with the Winemaker/Assistant winemaker and cellar crew, with the common goal of making premium wine.  

This position is responsible for all wine and juice analysis, QC for the bottling line and data entry.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

 

-       Collects samples from tanks and barrels and perform all routine analysis (Bx, Alc, pH, TA, RS,FS, TS, etc.)

-       Daily monitoring of fermenting wines

-     Daily setup and calibration of lab equipment. (pH meter, Spectrophotometer, turbidity meter etc.)

-       Fining trials on juices and wines

-       Responsible for the accuracy of all lab analysis.

-       Perform upkeep and maintenance of all lab equipment.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

-       Education in Food Science, Enology, or related field.

-       Previous lab experience required.

-       Basic knowledge of winery and cellar operations.

-       Ability to communicate and follow verbal instructions.

-       Ability to understand any safety requirements and cautions.

-       Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.

-       Ability to work independently and multi-task.

-       Ability to lift 50 lbs.

 

 During the harvest season, this position may require working weekends and extended hours. The ability to work flexible hours is required.

 

Salary:
Hourly wage based on experience and knowledge.

Please note this is a temporary position (September - December 2016) with an option to extend.
