A quaint, family-owned and -operated winery located in Niagara on the Lake is looking for enthusiastic, energetic and responsible individuals to join their team. This is a year-round position. We are currently looking to fill both full-time and part-time positions. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends (including Long Weekends). Please note that we are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We close early on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Must be available to start immediately.
Responsiblities include:
- Opening and closing the Tasting Bar.
- Greeting all customers.
- Providing high levels of customer service.
- Pouring and describing wines as well as provide information about Cattail Creek.
- Operating a computer, cash register and credit card machine.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Tasting Bar and related areas.
- Stocking and taking inventory of wines and gift items.
- Shipping online orders.
- Accurately taking reservations.
- Portion out meat and cheeses and prepare Picnic in the Vineyards for visitors.
- Conducting group tastings including wine and food pairings.
- Answering the phone and handling enquiries in a professional manner.
- Polishing glassware and cleaning dishes.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate has outstanding interpersonal skills. An outgoing and engaging person who is self motivated yet works well under direction. They work well under pressure in a fast paced environment. This person must be a team player and is willing to assist where required. Must be able to lift 35 kg and be over the age of 18. Please note that this is a physical job requiring long periods of standing. Previous experience in Hospitality is preferred. Smart Serve Certification is required.
$14.00 to $15.00 per hour
