POSITION SUMMARY:
The Wine Sales Representative is responsible for representing our wine portfolio in the on-premise sales channel in Ontario.
Success in the role will be reflected by attainment of distribution, volume, market share, consumer trial and brand equity as per sales plan and territory growth.
This position is based in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Be responsible for the sales and promotion of winery portfolio, calling on restaurants in Ontario (key territory to include Niagara, London, GTA).
• Maintain and increase sales velocity in existing accounts by building credible long-term partnerships
• Prospect, qualify and negotiate new accounts
• Manage Master Account List to ensure call frequency
• Complete call planning, call tracking and weekly reporting
• Review sales data to understand account performance, identify new prospects
• Engage in brand building activities via customer/consumer tastings and training events
• Provide insight into market dynamics and trends
• Work to individual sales targets, distribution and programming goals.
• Manage budgets, capturing return on investment
• Meet regularly with management team and General Manager
• Enhance and develop policies, procedures and service systems to meet the goals of the department.
• Assist with budget preparation and monitoring of the department P&L.
• Responsible for ensuring Order Desk has accurate information for order maintenance and shipping,
• Portfolio tastings both onsite and offsite, with support of Winemaker and Brand Manager
• Awareness of inventory levels and vintage flip dates, to ensure customer satisfaction
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
• CRM, SalesForce or similar application knowledge an asset
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
• Passion for customers that is always demonstrated by actions
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• 2-3 years related experience selling beverage alcohol
• WSET Intermediate or equivalent
• Post-secondary education is required.
• Smart Serve Certification
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Flexible work schedule, including the ability to work evening and weekends.
• Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required.
• Ability to be on standing and walking for long periods of time.
• Overtime as required.
