We are seeking for a leader whom is positive and self-motivated, and motivates others. This person needs to achieve wine sales target and at the same time creates best customer service environment. Hospitality is vital to creating memorable winery experience. Making sure excellent hospitality is also an important aspect of the responsibility.

Responsibility

  • Provide positive leadership and direction to all Wine Shop staff
  • Co-ordinate and conduct VIP and Group wine tours
  • Create a positive work environment that is focused on customer service excellence
  • Recruit and train new Associates when required
  • Develop bi-weekly work schedules for the Associates to ensure adequate coverage of the tasting room, retail store, and special events
  • Conduct performance appraisals and manage and execute the staff incentive program
  • Set wine sale targets and incentives for all weekends
  • Develop and report on retail wine sales on a weekly basis
  • Manage inventory and make purchasing decisions for all retail merchandise
  • Manage and track wine inventory on a daily basis with the bookkeeper.
  • Develop sales strategies weekly, discuss with upper management, and implement them.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and passion for wine, preferably formal education in wine at an accredited school
  • Experience in the wine industry
  • Management experience in hospitality and customer service
  • Sales experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft programs (Excel, Word)
  • Able to lift cases of wine (approx. 15 kg)
