Job Description
Jackson-Triggs and Inniskillin culinary team will be involved in daily food service to the public as well as preparation for private events. Our estates provide excellent opportunities for individuals who are looking to gain knowledge, experience and overall growth in our kitchens, due to the numerous culinary programs we offer.
We believe in educating our employees in diverse culinary techniques, service techniques and wine theory. With proper training team members will be expected to execute at a high level. Team members are fully encouraged to participate in our “open door policy”, seeking advice, contributing input and receiving feedback to help our culinary division gain knowledge and develop. The successful candidate is required to be an ambassador for the company while comfortably interacting with guests.
Expectations for daily service
- Up keep of par levels and relaying product orders.
- Upholding quality standards set forth.
- Communicating with our service team to ensure smooth daily operation.
- Forecasting volume and meeting that expected quantity.
- Interaction with guests and promotion of our wines.
- High levels of sanitation as you are on display.
- Adequate chef attire and professional appearance.
- Input and development of new menu items.
Expectations for private event experiences
- Meeting standards of various on site event formats.
- Interacting with our guests when required.
- Accurately reading and understanding Banquet Event Orders.
- Liaising with service staff to ensure proper preparation of service requirements, event timing and finalized number of guests.
- Preparation for events in conjunction with culinary team goals.
- Aiding in cleanup after event.
- Ensuring Proper Maintenance and cleanliness standards are met at all times in both staff and guest populated areas.
Job Requirements
- Willingness to learn and a passion for food and wine.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Culinary oriented Post Secondary Education (currently enrolled / graduated) or at least 1-2 years of industry experience.
- Ability to multitask projects simultaneously.
- Ability to organize and present in front of large groups.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and have great interpersonal skills.
- Wine knowledge is an asset
