Territory Sales Rep - Niagara Region (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Cru Wine Merchants is a leading importer of premium wines into Ontario. At Cru, we are guided by the age-old adage that great wine is grown, not made. We know that the people who grow great wines are integral in the cycle. We understand the efforts and anxieties that go into growing wine. We live it daily in our own vineyard, Stratus, in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our Cru portfolio is comprised of winegrowers the world over who believe, above all else, that their wines speak of a place, of a year – of a ‘somewhere-ness.’

We have chosen to represent wines that capture the essence of the vineyard they come from. We have chosen to represent people who, at the end of the day, we would like to break bread with, around a table with their wine flowing.

We are looking for a full-time licensee sales representative for the Niagara Region (including Hamilton, KW, Guelph and Stratford). 

Responsibilities:

- Build relationships with restaurants and bottle shops in your territory;

- Collaborate on sales strategies;

- Participate in marketing activities, such as producer visits and trade shows;

- Identify and leverage market trends;

- Initiate training and tasting events with licensee customers and their teams;

- Have a thorough understanding of the portfolio, including growers stories and individual wine details;

- Develop new business: onboard new licensee customers;

- LCBO training and sales visits;

- Work collaboratively with the rest of the sales and office teams.

Requirements

- Must be enthusiastic about wines from around the world;

- WSET level 3 (or higher) or CMS certification required;

- Previous wine sales experience would be an asset;

- Knowledge of the Niagara and surrounding area dining scene and to stay current with new openings / opportunities;

- Self-motivated and comfortable making cold calls;

- Open to receiving feedback to grow in the position and contribute to the success of the company long term;

- Occasional need to work weekends and holidays, etc. as client requests require;

- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English;

- Ability to lift/move a case of wine;

- Computer literate;

- Smart Serve Certified;
