Fine Vintage is an established and fast-growing company owned and operated by James Cluer MW.
The company is the Canadian market leader in wine education, wine tourism, and recruitement. We also operate a consultancy business working with wineries and major corporations in wine buying. The company collaborates with a team of talented individuals across Canada, USA and Europe, including 6 prominent Masters of Wine and other industry experts.
We are currently executing a major growth strategy in all sectors of our business. We are looking for an extremely talented and dyanmic individual to join our team on a long-term basis.
You will be responsible for a new online "wine shop" activity in Canada and the USA.
In Canada this will involve selecting wines primarily from Canadian wineries in both major regions, making financial and supply agreements with suppliers, writing marketing copy, managing the wine shop section of a new website, promoting the selections via all channels including email, social media and advertising, tracking orders and ensuring logistics run smoothly, and responsible for the financials. There will be a regular and changing selection of different wines, in addition to a traditional wine club format of standing orders.
In the USA you will work with our partner, the largest onlne wine retailer in the USA wine.com, who handles all orders and logistics, to select and promote wines that they carry through our own website.
Additionally, you will be responsible for writing our blog promoting not only our wine offerings but also our other business activities, providing useful tips to wine lovers and building an active and regular following through weekly posts.
You will also be responsible for work on our video series, creating mini movies by editing footage and writing VO scripts for an active and on-going series.
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 1-2 days per week, is from a home office, and must be based in either the Okanagan Valley or Niagara.
You must have the following key skills:
-Be an expert taster.
-Have a broad and expert knowledge of the world of wine and Canadian wineries in particular.
-Have experience opertaing a wine club and DTC sales.
-Have online sales and marketing experience.
-Be able to create schedules, customize programs and offers to the market demand, make financial agreements with suppliers and organize them to manage our orders and transactions, track sales and inventory, oversee logistics which will be handled by the supplier, and summarize P&L's for this business, which you are 100% responsible for, assisted by James.
-Have website design and managment experience and able to give input on business models and their evolution.
-Be an expert communicator and writer, also responsible for an active blog.
-Be extremely detailed, self-motivated, reliable, efficient and independent with an ability to manage this business, effectively your own. You must have a desire to grow with our company and benefit from a myriad of evolving opportunities.
-The start date is flexible for the right candidate but must be by end 2017.
Compensation will be appropriate for the right candidate.
