James Cluer MW and Marcus Ansems MW are leading the development of an exciting new winery project in the Okanagan Valley for a client.
Our client is a successful property development company with a long-established business in B.C., Seattle and China building residential multi-unit complexes and cities for 100,000+ people.
Our business plan is to build a benchmark showpiece winery/cellar door in the northern Okanagan designed by a famous architect, have an efficient production facility at a location TBD, and a tasting room at our vineyards in the southern Okanagan. The compact and focused portfolio will be themed and will focus on premium wines whilst remaining sales driven. Details will be disclosed to appropriate candidates.
Additionally, our client has already purchased a waterfront property in Kelowna where they will build a multi-unit condo complex with links to the winery business. This position will also be involved in the marketing of this project.
We are looking to hire a part time Sales and Marketing Director to work approx 3-4 days per week from a home-based office, with the intention for this to become a full-time position within 2 years. You will be responsible for executing the sales and marketing plan designed by James and yourself, the successful applicant.
We require the following key skills:
-Must have experience in sales and Marketing and connections in the Okanagan wine industry.
-Must be able to write business plans and budgets.
-Must have Marketing experience in branding, communication, advertising, packaging development, website design and operation, PR, media contacts and social media management.
-Must have a network with key members of the trade in B.C. including key Buyers.
-Must have experience in sales to restaurants and DTC.
-Must have a high level of wine knowledge.
-Must be available to start by end 2017.
As this is currently a part-time position the candidate will be able to work on other projects. The intention is for it to become full-time when the business develops to a point requiring it.
Compensation will be made attractive to the right candidate.
