Phantom Creek Estates is located on the Black Sage Bench in the southern Okanagan Valley. Our 75 acres of premium estate vineyards are precisely farmed and currently in the conversion process to organic and biodynamic certification. Our red wine production is based on Bordeaux red varieties and Syrah, and in 2017 our portfolio will expand to include Alsatian white varieties and traditional method sparkling wine.
We are looking for three Harvest Interns and one Harvest Lab Technician to join us for the 2017 harvest. Successful applicants will be hard working, extremely detail oriented, and uncompromising when it comes to quality.
Our Harvest Interns will be involved in all winemaking activities. Key responsibilities will include fruit processing, red fermentation management, juice and wine transfers and racking, barrel work, and cleaning. Previous harvest experience is an advantage, as is forklift experience. A positive attitude and desire to be involved with the production of outstanding wine is essential. Expected dates are September – December 2017.
Our Harvest Lab Technician will be responsible for all lab analyses from grape maturity sampling to the end of harvest. Key responsibilities will include analyzing vineyard samples, full analysis of processed juice and musts, daily fermentation analysis, record keeping, and maintaining lab equipment. Additional tasks will include collecting vineyard and winery samples, as well as cellar harvest work duties as described above. Previous lab experience is essential, as is a high level of attention to detail. Expected dates are August – December 2017.
