Hospitality & Events Support (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Culmina Family Estate Winery is a new, family-run winery estate located on the Golden Mile Bench. Conceived in 2007, Don, Elaine and Sara Triggs started with a simple goal: to make the highest quality wines possible from their family's own estate. Channeling their lifelong passion and resources into their new property, Culmina represents their commitment to excellence, as well as their desire to craft icon quality wines reflective of their origins. Since opening its doors in 2013, Culmina offers the opportunity to explore a very limited release of carefully crafted wines at their state-of-the-art winery and Tasting Room. 

Culmina is looking for a warm, highly personable and responsible person to join their Hospitality Team. This position will work with the Hospitality & Events Coordinator in the following areas.

Tasting Room & Event Support

  • Provide an exemplary tasting room guest experience, offering Reserve Tastings and Vineyard & Winery Tours 
  • Support wine inventories 
  • Create Tasting Room reservations with online booking software 
  • Update the Tasting Room Subscriber database 
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the Tasting Room and all other front of house areas 
  • Participate and engage in all safety programs 
  • Provide support at all on and off-site events

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding customer service abilities, as well as a desire to offer top-knotch levels of service 
  • Retail sales or Fine Dining skills 
  • Database Management skills (Vin65 or other considered an asset) 
  • A warm and outgoing personality 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task 
  • Ability to work on a compact team, and to work independently 
  • Abiliy to work weekends and the occasional evening 
  • Good computer skills 
  • Solid knowledge of and/or a proven passion for wine, with formal training considered an asset (ISG, WSET, etc) 
  • Serving It Right certificate 
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs 

Hourly remuneration commensurate with experience and negotiated upon offer.
