Church & State Wines, a progressive producer in Oliver, BC, is looking for a new Vineyard Manager. This popular winery farms 100 acres of exclusively estate vineyards, and produces premium and ultra-premium wines.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
§ Motivate and performance manage crew of up to 15
§ Plan, schedule and manage safe and productive work activities in the vineyard
§ Implement programs ensuring grape quality and yield objectives are met
§ Generation and execution of annual budget
§ Oversee maintenance and upkeep of vineyard equipment and supplies
§ Provide crop forecasting, scheduling and quality control
§ Communicate with and report to the proprietor
What We’re Looking For Includes:
§ B. Sc. or equivalent in Viticulture
§ 5+ years vineyard supervising experience including 2+ management
§ Understanding of cool climate viticulture including growing vinifera varietals
§ Strong understanding of premium grape growing techniques including integrated pest management, deficit irrigation, and creation of a vine health program through soil and petiole analysis
§ Familiarity with operation and maintenance of farm equipment
§ Proficiency in Spanish is an asset
