Job Description:
• Handle all basic lab analysis.
• Assist with all other areas of harvest – sorting of grapes, inoculation’s, punch downs, racking’s, additions, barrel filling, record keeping and cleaning.
• Manage of all routine lab analysis (ship samples out that require spec analysis) as well as join in on the processing of the grapes and wine.
• Involvement with all aspects of harvest, sorting, cap management, inoculations, additions, racking’s, transfers, barrel work, and of course the inevitable cleaning and sanitizing.
• Our harvest team here consists of myself – my asst winemaker, our cellar supervisor and the 4th position we are currently offering. We are an upbeat group, serious about making the best wine possible – but we still like to enjoy harvest. In addition we are always willing to discover new methods of production that you may have experienced during your previous employment and will appreciate your feedback on tasting wines as they develop.
• Physical demands as well the need to occasionally work long hours and some weekends
Job Requirements:
• Two years of college with an emphasis on winemaking.
• Minimum 3 successful vintages.
• Minimum 1 vintage lab experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / OTHER
• Must be able sit and/or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs regularly.
• Must be capable of passing forklift license.
• Must qualify for International Experience Canada Visa. Application and acceptance will be solely your responsibility.
The position offers C$ 19/hour. We are looking for someone to start Sept 6th 2016 and work through to Dec 2nd. Though not entirely sorted out at this point we should be able to get you situated with accommodations (likely shared) that would run in the approx $15/ day range.
