The Fitzpatrick Family, owners of Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards which is situated at 697 Highway 97 South overlooking Okanagan Lake between Peachland and Summerland, with an established 40 acres of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Ehrenfelser, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Blanc vines have finalized plans to transform the existing winery into a Sparkling Wine House with a Mediterranean style bistro attached to the existing Wine Shop. Construction is underway and the new winery facility will be complete and ready for Harvest 2016. The new 8,000 to 10,000 case boutique winery will specialize in Sparkling Wine but will also produce still wines.
The Fitzpatrick Family is searching for an experienced hands-on Winemaker to direct their viticultural practices and craft their sparkling and still wines with a start date of August 15, 2016. The successful candidate must have a proven winemaking track record, viticulture experience as well as possess the requisite leadership, educational and business skills. Areas of responsibility include:
· Viticulture direction, grape selection and quality assurance
· All winery production from crush to bottling
· Practical experience (5+ years) in the production of traditional method sparkling wines
· Quality assurance and supplies management
· Associated duties with the promotion of the brand through media, trade, staff and consumer relations
· Highest standards of cleanliness required and must maintain an immaculate cellar,
We are offering a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and production levels, with salary range between $80,000 - $90,000 per annum ($38.46/hour - $43.27/hour).
