Cellar Assistant (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

We are currently searching for a highly-motivated Cellar Assistant to join our team at LA FRENZ Winery. Start date for this position is March 2017.

 

At LA FRENZ quality in the bottle begins in the vineyard. We farm 4 separate sites using meticulous vineyard practices. These grapes are crafted into wine styles using state of the art equipment and techniques. We produce and bottle approximately 12,000 cases annually. Working directly with the winemaker this dynamic role will encompass all aspects of the winery, cellar and warehouse. The ideal candidate should be motivated, enthusiastic, energetic and highly attentive to detail.

 

 Qualifications and Attributes:

 

  • Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

  • University degree in Oenology / Science Related Field or Tertiary equivalent

  • Experience (2+ years) in the wine industry, with international experience considered an asset

  • Experience in all aspects of cellar activities

  • Willingness and ability to work long physical hours (during harvest and whenever else required)

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Able to work in a team environment and independently

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • All aspects of Harvest – fruit receival, processing and monitoring fermentations

  • Operating, cleaning and maintaining winery equipment

  • Cellar duties – filtrations, rackings, cleaning

  • Conducting laboratory analysis

  • Barrel management and operations

  • Bottling line supervision and operations

  • Warehouse organisation – forklift operations, shipping and receiving
