Bookkeeper

We are looking for a bookkeeper with a strong knowledge of accounting or business administration. Experience in the wine industry is an asset but a person with a friendly, outgoing nature and a keen interest to learn will also be considered.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Professional Skills

·         The candidate should have a strong knowledge of bookkeeping with an Associate's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.

·         Sage 50 Accounting Program experience and asset

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

·         Understanding of Vin65 administration software an asset

·         Understanding of Winery required paperwork an asset

Administration duties

·         Coding and data entry of sales documents and expense invoices

·         Process bi-weekly payroll for 25 employees

·         Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable

·         Process all monthly CRA and provincial tax payments

·         Reconcile Bank statements

·         Produce monthly financial statements or as requested by Management

·         Track budgets with Management

·         Monthly coordinating of paperwork and reporting of sales to BCLDB as required

Office duties

·         Switchboard and telephone messages

·         Filing

·         Sort incoming / outgoing mail

·         Manage general enquiries emails

Other duties

·         Open to working some evenings and weekends as needed to assist with winery events.

·         Interest in occasionally pouring wine for tastings, assisting customers and hosting special guests

Personal Skills

·         Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

·         Quick to learn new systems specifically related to the wine industry

·         Easy going, friendly nature and enjoys working in a busy social environment

·         Able to carry a 40 lb case of wine

Compensation

·         Annual salary based on experience
