Poplar Grove Winery is looking to hire a practical, hands-on person to fulfill entry level cellar work for a four-month contract. This position could be an excellent first step into the wine industry.
The position may, on occasion, require work to be performed outside the normal scope of job responsibilities and schedule.
Responsibilities
- Undertake processing and cellar operations such as pump overs, topping, racking, transferring, tank and barrel cleaning.
- Perform basic laboratory analyses for fruit and juice.
- Ensure all wine making records are current and accurate
- Housekeeping in and around the winery, including vehicles
Education and Work Experience
The candidate must be strongly interested in wine and wine quality; post-secondary education is beneficial. Previous winery work or vintage experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
