An outdoor, covered, misted Patio featuring an open concept kitchen and a Forno Bravo pizza oven, where guests can savour authentic Neapolitan pizzas, charcuterie boards and baked cheese dishes crafted with our premium cheese and served, of course, with our award winning wines. Upper Bench is also home to Canada's only wine & cheese Club.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic Sales and Hospitality Leader to join our team. As the Sales and Hospitality Leader, you will oversee all sales and hospitality operations at our location in Penticton. This includes managing our seasonal outdoor patio (where we conduct seated wine & cheese tastings), wine & cheese Club memberships, and our wine shop. We are looking for someone with a strong sales focus, exceptional customer service skills, and experience in staff management and of course, a love of wine & cheese.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the sales and hospitality team to provide exceptional customer service and drive sales.

  • Manage all aspects of staffing, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase membership in the Wine & Cheese Club.

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the Club, outdoor patio, wine shop, and other hospitality areas.

  • Collaborate with other departments to support their initiatives and contribute to the overall success of Upper Bench.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a sales and hospitality leadership role, in the wine or hospitality industry.

  • Strong sales focus with a track record of achieving targets and driving revenue growth.

  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to create memorable experiences for guests.

  • Experience in staff management, including recruitment, training, performance, discipline and time management.

  • Knowlege of Wine Direct and Ollie Order.

  • Passion for wine & cheese.

  • Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Have serving it right & food safe.

Schedule:

  • Full-time position with flexibility required for occasional evenings and weekends.

 

$50k to $60k depending on experience, qualifications and education.
